There are a number of airlines flying to Sofia or Varna including BA , Bulgaria Air, Easyjet and RyanAir

BA, Bulgaria Air and Easyjet fly to Sofia while Ryanair go to Plovdiv. From either Sofia or Plovdiv it is about a 3 hour drive. We hire a car and this is a must if you want to get around. Driving is not too difficult, Bulgaria has good Sat Nav coverage and on the latest maps Ritia shows up. Taxis are very cheap, about 0.45lv/Km (15p/km) and many of them have drivers who can speak a little English.
