There are a number of airlines flying to Sofia or Varna including BA , Bulgaria Air and Easyjet.

Easyjet fly from Gatwick, BA and Bulgaria Air from Heathrow. From either Sofia or Varna it is about a 3 hour drive. We hire a car and this is a must if you want to get around. Driving is not too difficult, it's the road signs that are hard!. Taxis are very cheap, about 0.45lv/Km (15p/km) and many of them have drivers who can speak a little English. The problem is no one has ever heard of Ritia!

There is a small airport just outside Veliko Turnovo that is supposed to be being expanded so the low cost airlines may soon fly there.
